Short history of Homo Sapiens Supremis Velorians and Arions

Homo Sapiens Supremis, often referred to as merely the Supremis, is a unique offshoot of the Homo Sapiens race that originated on the planet Earth. While many rumors exist as to the ultimate origin of the human race, the history of the Supremis is well documented in numerous scientific journals and chronicles. I will attempt to briefly summarize the key elements of those journals here.

Before I start, it is important for me to emphasize that the Supremis are not a natural race of beings. By that I mean they have been artificially evolved and enhanced. As we all know, the normal evolution of a species occurs very slowly, taking the form of an accumulation of thousands of beneficial genetic mutations leading to progressive improvements in the ability of stronger members of the population to pass on their favorable genetic characteristics. This I call natural evolution, and it has been well-documented on many worlds, including by Darwin on the planet Earth. Natural evolution is very slow, generally requiring hundreds of thousands to millions of years to effect a significant change in a species.

By contrast, the Supremis race appeared almost overnight. Yet if any date could be established for its origin, it would January 30, 1011AD. That was the date that a Galen spacecraft lifted off from what is today Northern Sweden. Contained in the ships holds were four thousand young men and women whom the Galen had collected from a half dozen small Nordic towns. It was the first recorded mass abduction of humans from Earth by an alien species.

The leader of that alien expedition, a young Galen woman by the name of Skietra, had selected the Nordic giants of that region partly for their physical robustness and size, but also because they looked remarkably like herself. In her vanity, shed selected only those who had remarkably fair hair and the sky-blue eyes of the northern winter sky.

It should be noted that the Galen themselves are a humanoid-like race of advanced space travelers who have moved from galaxy to galaxy since time immemorial, breathing intelligence and sentience into the native races they found in their travels. (It is rumored, but unproven, that an earlier expedition of Galen was responsible for the original spark that created humanity from the apes of Earth a million years earlier, but that is more the arena of mythology and rumor than fact, and this journal will stay focused on what is scientifically documented). Note also that it is unknown what their natural physical form is, for they invariably assume a physical shape that is pleasing to whatever race of beings they are currently working with.

Skietra took her human specimens to a planet in a far corner of the Milky Way galaxy, a planet she named Velor after the Galen word for golden, Velorea. Velor was indeed an appropriate name, as the four thousand of the total six thousand mile diameter of the planet's core was made of pure gold, and the surface sand and rock was golden in color due to the very high concentration of that metal. By weight, Velor was eighty-percent gold, one of only two planets ever discovered by the Galen which had that unique composition.

Once her human charges were settled on Velor, Skietra constructed an elaborate laboratory to focus on in-vitro genetic enhancement of her subjects. The Galen had collected the unique genetic traits from the indigenous species of ten thousand populated worlds, and they infused selected elements of those wild genes into the bodies they created when they made themselves visible to their subjects.

Skietra was so artistically pleased with the human-like body she'd created for herself that she began to infuse a weakened version of those traits into the humans shed collected on Earth, attempting to create beings that were made in her image.

She began by inserting the genes for tremendous strength and resistance to injury, gradually increasing the number of muscle fibers in her humans bodies by a hundred times, while shrinking the cross-section of each fiber by an equal amount, even as she made each fiber ten times stronger. The result was that her Velorians still looked like humans, yet possessed physical strength that was a thousand times greater than any normal human. To harness such strength, the atomic binding structure of the molecules of every cell in their bodies was enhanced to give them a near complete resistance to injury.

Their eyes were further enhanced to allow them to image Tachyon and Neutrino particles. As we know today, those particles are so small as to be able to pass through ordinary matter, much like light through a glass window, the only effect of that passage being a change in the spin and resonance of the particles, something that a Galens retina could resolve. The result was that she granted the Velorians the selective ability to see through otherwise solid matter.

Their bodies were also modified to be able to store vast amounts of Orgone energy, and to draw additional energies across the dimensional void to power their energetic physiques. As with the Galen, the freely expansible female breast became the primary storage location for that energy, giving Velorian females an inherent advantage over males when it came to endurance.

Their eyes were further modified to enable them to project a portion of that stored energy from their optic nerves and retina at various frequencies, creating a fearsome weapon for self-defense.

And then lastly, Skietras crowning achievement was to infuse the otherwise unique Galen genes for levitation, giving her new creations, the Velorians, the power of flight.

Interestingly, Skietra revealed none of these new abilities to her Velorians. To control her creations, and to allow them to develop in normal ways, she inserted a tightly-bound gene into their helix that would dramatically weaken them when in the influence of a gold field like that found on Velor. Thus the Velorians, who were left with no scientific technology other than their genetics, could not escape the gravity field of Velor. And without being able to leave the gold field of Velor, most of the unique characteristics that Skietra had granted them remained undiscovered by the Velorians for hundreds of years.

I should take a moment to reflect that Skietras attempts to improve Homo Sapiens was not unique. In every galaxy the Galen had visited, theyd chosen one life form and enhanced it to leave behind a guardian of that galaxy. Whether sentient insects, intelligent ocean dwellers or living rocks, theyd identified the one life form which could nurture all the others and enhanced them. Yet Skietra now did something that no other Galen had ever done. She allowed the unique and dangerous free will of the Earth humans to remain untouched and uncontained in her Velorians. As opposed to being genetically compelled to follow her instructions like all other Galen client races, she left the Velorians with but a single directive, the so-called Prime Directive.

Nurture and protect sentient life in all its diversity and forms, and do not interfere or influence the development of any species, other than to the degree necessary to protect them from external threats beyond the boundaries of their planet.

Then the greatest mystery of all came about. Before Skietra could complete her project, she and the other Galen mysteriously disappeared for hundreds of years, presumably due to an attack by a rival race of god-like beings. The Velorians, suddenly on their own and relative children in their social institutions, created several myths as to their existence. The most common was that theyd been created to be the consorts of the Galen, the vessels of new gods, a myth that explained the physical dominance of females. They also became increasing confused and divided, eventually splitting into two groups: the natural procreation group and the genetic purists.

The first group argued that they should freely intermarry and share their genetic traits with each other the way humans had always done.

The second group, the purists, handed all control of a new embryo off to Skietras Maternity Engine, the automated genetic lab shed build on Velor. They would input the desirable traits of a prospective child, and then submit sperm and ova from the aspiring parents to the lab. The Maternity Engine would then edit the genes according to Skietras plan, inserting and purifying the resulting genome to maintain the universally blonde, blue-eyed race that shed initially created.

The debate between the naturals and the purists grew more heated with the passing decades until a leader finally arose to lead a rebellion. A bloody period in Velorian history ensued, with the resolution coming only after the naturals agreed to leave the planet via a Dimensional Transport that Skietra had left behind. This machine allowed for the instantaneous transport of objects across time and space, while never letting the Supremis know how powerful they would become if they escaped the gold field of their planet. The machine initially had only one setting, and that was the second gold-cored planet, a location Skietra had once planned to expand her efforts to.

The naturalists soon arrived by the hundreds of thousands on a reddish, inhospitable planet they named Aria and began to conquer their new wilderness.

Back on Velor, peace was restored after the naturalists left. Yet on Aria, the rebellious and arrogant leaders of the movement continued their ideology, and in so doing, they let it run away with them. Desiring to further differentiate themselves from the people of their home planet, they began to call themselves Arions. Further, they developed a dangerous genetic virus and unleashed it on themselves, the goal being to expunge the genes for blonde hair and replace it with the opposite raven black. Never again would an Arion be confused with a Velorian.

Unfortunately, the virus mutated and caused serious side-effects. Approximately 10-15% of Arions grew stronger and more aggressive, but the remaining members of the population became less aggressive and weaker, their physiques now little more powerful than the Terrans theyd long ago descended from. The stronger members of the race called themselves Primes, the others they named Betans.

The Betans, no longer genetically favored, began to focus their energies on hard technology, and they developed airships and then spacecraft. Flying beyond the gold field of Aria, the Betan pilots felt stronger and more vital the further they traveled, their strength increasing to a half dozen times that of normal. Returning to report on this phenomena, they took a Prime up into space to determine if they would suffer from the same effects. The result was an explosion of unrestrained energy that flashed through the Prime to imbue him with several thousand times the strength and vitality of a mere human. With his ship vaporized, he fell from orbit to re-enter and crash to the surface without protection, and survived barely long enough to tell his tale of supreme empowerment.

The militant Arions, acting upon their interpretation of Skietras wish to protect sentient life, built an armada of ships and expanded outward, their Primes unstoppable in battle. They conquered a hundred worlds, uniting them into an iron-fisted Empire that could resist any alien intervention other than their own. Then, they made the mistake of attacking Velor, knowing that if the Velorians ever found a way to escape their gold field and gravity well, they would become as powerful as themselves.

The battle for Velor was hard-fought, with the Primes possessing twice the strength of Velorians in their gold field. Yet in one pivotal battle, the Velorians were able to capture an Arion ship and escape the gold field of Velor. Suddenly empowered like the Primes, they discovered that they also possessed the fabled power of flight, something the Arions had inadvertently lost during their forced genetic mutation. That power turned the tide of battle, with an army of less powerful but flight-capable Velorians destroying every Arion ship that approached Velor.

Thus was the start of a galactic war. The Arion Empire opposing the newly formed Velorian Enlightenment. One side fought to preserve sentient life by military force and empire, they other by encouraging self-determination and free will.

A century passed during which the battles increasing tilted toward the Empires eventual victory until a unique woman appeared on Velor, her name Aphrodite. She made no claim as to her origin, but was widely believed to be the result of another Galen experiment, her genetics closely resembling a Galen. She began a program to create what she called Protectors, a stronger, more aggressive form of Velorian. Invariably female due to a womans greater energy storage ability, she sent her Protectors outward to protect emerging civilizations from the encroachment of the Arion Empire.

From the day of her arrival to now, hundreds of years later, each and every Protector who has left Velor has been personally enhanced on her sixteen birthday by Aphrodite in a ceremony that is primitively pagan.

The result is an army of young women who live among the natives of a thousand worlds, including the original birthplace of humanity, Earth. They do not draw attention to themselves unless their planet is attacked by an alien threat from beyond the pale of their worlds, and otherwise live normal lives, seeking to understand the people they protect by becoming one of them. Sharing the hopes, joys, triumphs and failures of their adopted planet, they are golden goddesses who have chosen to live modest lives, waiting for that fateful day when they must arise to protect their new home.

These are the brave members of the Protector Corps, the proud warriors of Velor, and the glowing daughters of the Enlightenment. They are the subjects of the Aurora Universe in all its myriad forms.
